Binary Solution, an LSAT prep program, seeks to increase the number of exceptionally qualified students of color applying to and entering law school through an intensive deconstruction of the LSAT exam. Scholarships are also offered for their prep courses.
Diversity Internship and Career Preparation Program (D.I.C.P)
Sophomore and Junior undergraduate students at NYU are encouraged to participate in the D.I.C.P Program as an opportunity to better advance their career development and networking skills. With an emphasis on promoting diversity within the workplace and developing a diverse group of future employees, participants have the opportunity to meet with leaders in various industries and help prepare for future internships.
Graduate/Faculty of Color Dinner Series and Grad Socials
We offer two monthly events for our graduate students including a faculty of color dinner series and a university-wide networking social. The dinner series allows for intimate conversations with other students and selected faculty of color. While the socials offer a more informal and relaxed atmosphere to mix and mingle.
FOCUS is a structured mentorship program designed to offer first generation and/or first and second year students of color (African American/Black, Arab American, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic American, Native American/American Indian/Alaskan Native, and Biracial/Multiracial) the opportunity to develop relationships with NYU Alumni, Faculty, Staff, Graduate Students or other professionals who can serve as resources and/or advocates through establishing an ongoing mentoring relationship.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Chapter @ NYU
HSF @ NYU is part of the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs. The club works to increase the college education of high schools students by creating programs designed to expose local youth to NYU and the undergraduate experience.
The –ISM Project, provides a venue for students to critically examine the complex ways “–isms” permeate their lives, especially in regards to diversity and intolerance.
The Nia Awards Ceremony honors the achievements of undergraduate and graduate students of color from across the University in the spring.
The Undergraduate Cultural Training Program (UCTP)
The Undergraduate Cultural Training Program (UCTP) is dedicated to developing the knowledge of diversity and social justice issues for undergraduate students. UCTP will allow students to further develop their knowledge of diversity and social justice issues, as well as their organization, planning, and implementation skills. Major areas UCTP will focus on are race, ethnicity, religion, and socioeconomic class. This position is a year-long commitment
