ALLEN M. MCFARLANE,
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT STUDENT DIVERSITY
DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS, NEW YORK UNIVERSITY
McFarlane HS

As your Assistant Vice President for Student Diversity Programs and Services at New York University, I provide leadership oversight for the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs and the Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Student Services. Additionally, through weekly meetings, an important strategic link to NYU Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs has been established. Our vision for diversity and the importance it has to our institution involves three main themes:

• Intellectual Advancement
• Community Development
• Global Leadership

Promoting the richness of our diverse community and history of NYU, establishing campus-wide traditions like the Martin Luther King Celebration Week, NYU Portraits – an all-university diversity orientation event, and serving, as chair of the NYU Student Diversity Advisory Board comprised of students, faculty and administrators, ensures that all students will thrive, lead and learn in new and exciting ways.

Finally, I am a graduate of New York University with an associate, bachelor's and master’s degrees and have developed a reputation for singing the NYU Alma Mater.
